The Dubai Balloon is a tethered helium balloon beside Aquaventure at Atlantis The Palm. Unlike a traditional hot-air balloon, it uses no open flame: non-flammable helium provides lift while a steel cable keeps the balloon connected to its launch platform. The controlled ascent and landing make it suitable for families and first-time flyers.
What you can see from 225 m
At roughly 75 storeys above ground, the basket offers a 360-degree panorama of Palm Jumeirah, Burj Al Arab, the towers of Dubai Marina and JBR, Burj Khalifa and the Arabian Gulf. Visibility varies with weather, but clear mornings can reveal much of the coastline.
When to fly
- Sunrise offers golden light, calmer conditions and excellent photographs.
- 09:00-11:00 often combines good visibility with lower temperatures and shorter queues.
- 17:00-midnight brings sunset followed by Dubai's evening lights.

- Flights are postponed during thunderstorms or winds above the operating limit; tickets can be moved to another date.
- Cameras and small hand luggage are permitted, while larger bags remain on the ground.
